BEEF CHEESE DIP
2 lbs ground beef
Salt and pepper or your favorite seasoning to taste (I use Mrs. Dash, Worcestershire Sauce, and McCormick’s Montreal Steak seasoning)
23 oz Jar of Tostitos Salsa Queso dip
1 TB Chili Powder
Skillet to brown ground beef
Tortilla chips
Crock Pot to slow cook dip
DIRECTIONS
Begin seasoning the ground beef with your favorite seasonings while you brown it in a skillet. Once at least ½ the meat is browned, add the Chili Powder. While the ground beef is cooking, turn on the crock pot to high and pour in the Queso dip.
Once the meet is completely browned, drain off the grease and pour the meat into the crock pot and mix it thoroughly with the cheese. When the cheese starts to bubble around the edges, stir the dip thoroughly and turn the crock pot to warm and serve with the tortilla chips
MEGA BERRY TRIFLE
1 - 10.75 oz package Sara Lee pound cake, cubed
2 - 16-oz package frozen mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries)
1 - 16-oz package frozen strawberry slices.
Either 1 – large 5 oz package Jell-o vanilla pudding mix or 2 – small packages of Jello-o Pudding mix (1 vanilla, 1 cream cheese – you can also use lemon or banana if you like)
1/2 cup milk
1 - 14-oz can sweetened condensed milk
1 - 8-oz container Cool Whip, thawed
Either a large trifle dish, clear tall container or clear plastic cups to serve trifle from
DIRECTIONS
Place the cubed cake in bottom of a large glass serving bowl or individual clear plastic cups. Layer the berries on top of the cake..
In a medium bowl, combine pudding mix, milk, condensed milk and whipped topping, stir well. Layer the custard mixture over frozen berries. Repeat layers if you like. Let sit at room temperature for 1 hour or in refrigerator for 2 to 3 hours, enough for the berries to thaw before serving.
I suggest thawing the frozen fruit out a little or making the trifle earlier so that the fruit is completely thawed out.
One variation is to cut the pound cake in half lengthwise and spread strawberry or other fruit preserves between the layers before cubing.
